Everything you need to know before you visit Prairie Sun. Browse our most frequently asked questions about reservations, private bookings, accessibility, policies, and more.
Reservations?
Do we take them?
Our reservation policy changes with the seasons.
Summer (May–Mid September): We operate on a first come, first served basis and do not accept reservations during our busy patio season.
Fall, Winter & Spring (Mid September–April): We happily accept reservations for indoor dining. Our online reservation system will launch in mid-September, making it easy to book your table in advance.
Planning a larger gathering? We accept private event bookings year-round. Visit our Private Events page or contact our team to learn more about our event spaces and group booking options.
A reservation is for guests looking to secure a table for a regular dining experience. It is typically for smaller groups joining us for food, drinks, and a great Prairie Sun experience.
A booking refers to a planned event or larger gathering that requires additional arrangements, such as a private space, set menus, food and beverage packages, or dedicated event planning support.
If you're simply joining us for dinner or drinks, you're looking for a reservation. If you're planning a celebration, corporate gathering, or private event, you're looking for a booking.
Booking vs. Reservations
Is there a Difference?
Auto-Gratuity
What is it? Do we do it?
No. Prairie Sun does not automatically apply gratuity to regular dining checks.
Our guests are always welcome to leave a gratuity based on the service they receive and their overall experience.
The only time an automatic gratuity may be applied is when it has been discussed, communicated, and agreed upon in advance as part of a private booking, large group reservation, event package, or customized food and beverage program.
If you have any questions about gratuity policies for an upcoming booking, our team is happy to provide details before your visit.
Yes. Prairie Sun offers wheelchair accessibility throughout our main floor dining area, patios, and washroom facilities.
Please note that our upper level Mezzanine space is not wheelchair accessible and is only accessible by stairs.
If you are joining us and have accessibility needs, we encourage you to let our team know when making a reservation or booking so we can help ensure you have the best possible experience at Prairie Sun.
