BADASS BREW

A Beer made for our beloved Rock 102 in support of their many non profits.  Stay tuned for the annual launch of this tasty beer. 

This most flavorful of indigenous American beer styles originated as a “Steam Beer” in the late 1800’s.  It is a hybrid amber beer made with Lager yeast, but fermented at warmer, Ale temperatures for a clean, fruity finish.  This beer has a rich, light caramel maltiness balanced by a medium hopping of German hops- Saaz and Hallertau.   Prairie Sun custom brewed this beer for Rock 102 and will launch every year at the annual BrewHaHa.

ABV: 5.2%
SRM: 10
IBU's: 35
Serve With: BBQ, hamburgers, chili, spicy foods, white cheddar, bread pudding
Serve In: pint glass 16 - 20 oz
Serve At: 5 - 7 degrees celsius

MEEWASIN 80

Brewed in support of the Meewasin Matters Campaign, “Meewasin 80” is an exclusive brew with a unique local flair.  Prairie Sun Brewery custom brewed this batch to celebrate the completion of the trail system in and around Saskatoon. The Trail totals 80 kilometers! Our Brew Master made “Beer History” by putting live spruce and pine, from the Meewasin Trail, directly into the beer.  The subtle hints of pine leave an elegant spicy & Citrusy aftertaste.   We hope you enjoy our earthy, fruity take on an ancient Wit Beer Style. 

ABV: 4.2%

Serve With: light seafood dishes, Mussels, orange, pork, Mascarpone, chevre, Crepes, Sorbet, panna cotta
Serve In: tulip or snifter 13 oz

DOG PATCH PALE ALE

Brewed every summer for a SK muic festival in Whalen SK.  We have done 3 different versions of Dog Patch all with the basis that it is a Pale Ale.  Check out this Music Festival for its gauranteed fantastic line up of both music and brews.

Dog Patch is a hoppy American Style Pale Ale. Columbus and play an important role in this hop forward American style ale.  The crystal malts give a subtle caramel flavor and balance the American hops without too much sweetness.  Citrus and florally flavors infuse the ale and give you the sharp, and clean pungent taste.

ABV: 5.5%
SRM: 9
IBU's: 35
Serve With: Wide range of food, Meat Pies, burgers, cheddar and English cheese, pumpkin pie, banana foster

FORBIDDEN FRUIT

Brewed for the Saskatoon Pride Association.  The Beer Launches with the annual YXE Pride Festival every June  Limited Quantities of this delicious Belgian ale.

Forbidden Fruit is a light, refreshing, fruity Ale.  The 2016 version has 25 different fruits for a huge fruity punch.  We add wine to the fermentation process to liven up the yeast and dry out the finish.  This Belgian style Ale is balanced with delicious Galaxy hops that will leave you craving this brew all summer long.

Thankful Thursdays

Inspired by National Philanthropy Day, our team at Prairie Sun Brewery has decided to dedicate one day a week to give back to our community. Every Thursday, $1 from every pint/growler sold will go to a local charity or non profit.


FIRKIN FRIDAYS AT FIONN MCCOOL'S

Every first friday of the month a firkin, or old style keg, is donated to a Local Non Profit to raise money for their organization.   In tradiotional style, the firkin is smashed open by a representative of the Non profit and the beer shoots out everywhere.  The Firkins are crafted by our firkin Master, Daniel Rommens.  He uses our main beers as a base and then adds special ingredients to them to make each one unique for that organization.  If you have a non profit interested in becoming a recipient, please reach out to Fionn Maccools for more information and Make sure to follow Fionn Maccools for this months firkin event info. 
 


LOCAL HOPTION

Every Fall we brew a colabortaive brew with the people of saskatoon and the surrounding area. Everyone is encouraged to take part in the creation of this beer by bringing in fresh picked hops from their back yards, back allys, etc.  The West Coast Style IPA is given a delcious local twist by hopping it with all Saskatchewan hops. 
 


CARIBREW

Caribrew is a new project planning to be launched in April 2017 in support of CPAWS and our beloved Canadian Caribou. Stay tuned for details of the launch and how to get involved.
